What happens when we fully explore the path that our curiosity leads us to?
Hidden Giants is a live performance that delves into how humanity captured the
most mysterious objects in our universe - black holes, cosmic giants that, by
definition, should be unseeable, trapping all light. It explores how an
impossible idea, born in the trenches of World War II, captured the curiosity
of countless minds, leading to the first-ever image of a black hole. The story
follows key figures like Einstein and the team at the Event Horizon Telescope
(EHT), delving into the nature of black holes and the end of our universe,
while simply explaining the core science behind these concepts.
What are the unseeable giants in our own lives? All we need to do is follow
our curiosity.
The 1-hour-and-30-minute performance is divided into three acts, exploring what black holes are, the minds that envisioned them, and those who eventually captured their image. Accompanied by an original score played live by Yasheen Modi on the grand piano, the music shifts from mysterious to dramatic, light- hearted, and triumphant, complementing the narrative and immersing the audience emotionally.
Visuals behind speaker Luca and pianist Yasheen, alongside crafted sound
design, enhance the storytelling and create an immersive experience, drawing
the audience deeper into the exploration of these cosmic mysteries.
The Universe on Stage offers a visual, musical, intellectual, and emotional
journey into the mysteries of black holes and the power of human curiosity.
