Anaphora Films in association with The South Festival of Memory, present the
inaugural instalment of ‘Resonance Archive Festival’, taking place in
Johannesburg from August 27 - 31, 2025 bringing together filmmakers, artists,
academics, historians and cultural practitioners to reflect on the past,
question the present and shape future memory. This year’s theme, “The pulse of
memory, the power of story,” explores archives as dynamic tools of resistance,
culture and identity. Spanning multiple venues, the festival will be a rich
mix of film screenings, symposiums, exhibition, and music events including
sonic lectures on SA music history.
