A24’s Tony is the story of a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain in an unconventional coming-of-age portrait. Rather than attempting to condense Bourdain’s extraordinary life into a traditional biopic, director Matt Johnson focuses on one formative summer that helped shape the man he would become. With Antonio Banderas delivering a standout supporting performance and critics praising Dominic Sessa’s magnetic turn, Tony is emerging as a fresh, intimate take on one of the world’s most recognisable culinary figures.
