Her Cinema Club is a space to celebrate women filmmakers. Presented by The
Emotional Club, an organisation founded by women, for women in the film
industry, our online community exchanges film recommendations and meets to
watch one of those movies in-person. In line with The Emotional Club’s goals,
special focus is placed on creating personal connections through cinema.

Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow explores trans identity and the cost of
repression, locating terror in the denial of transformation rather than in
difference itself. This film inspects who determines how we recognise
ourselves and inhabit our bodies against a fantastical, yet grounded, story
world. By bringing these topics into conversation, Her Cinema Club supports
filmmakers who expand the possibilities of intersectional feminist
representation.
