Established in 2008 to raise funds for conservation and showcase the beauty of the Crocodile River Reserve, Ride the Rhenoster is a once-a-year mountain bike event with heart.

Just 20 minutes from Fourways, this one-day trail ride lets you explore a protected wilderness normally closed to the public.

Each year, landowners in the Reserve open their gates so you can cycle past rocky ridges, ancient grasslands, riverbeds, and open skies—riding singletrack and district roads steeped in history. From the mystery of Ladybird Castle to the old silver mine, and the quiet stories of Koppie Alleen, every route has something to uncover.

With 20km and 40km options, there’s something for every level—and every rider helps fund vital conservation and community projects in the Reserve.
