Impact Series - Drivers Of A Sustainable Future:The theme for the session is “Drivers Of A Sustainable Future”.In this session, we will share insights on the significant differences that Organisations, Foundations, NGOs, and NPOs are making in society. With these insights, we want to share pros and cons, the wins, successes, the approaches and why the respective approaches are relevant and effective towards driving a sustainable future.The diverse nature of the panel will showcase different ways to achieve the SDGs as well as South Africa’s socio-economic goals.The panel will be made up of diverse leaders driving impact through their respective companies or organisations.

How the session will work:How it’ll work is that there will be a panel of 3-4 individuals, including yourselves. Each individual is given an opportunity to deliver a keynote for 15 minutes, then post each presentation, we get into a panel and discuss and then close with questions from the audience.

Speakers:Warren Farerr, CEO - Do More Foundation: Warren Farrer is the Chief Executive Officer of the DO MORE FOUNDATION, an organisation he was instrumental in establishing during his tenure as RCL FOODS’ Corporate Social Investment Executive. With over 23 years at RCL FOODS, Warren transitioned from marketing roles at prominent blue chip, to focus on corporate social investment. He holds a B.Comm (Honours), a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and an MBA, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies. Warren leads a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing early childhood development (ECD) services, reflecting his deep commitment to improving the lives of young children in vulnerable communities. His strategic leadership and collaborative approach have significantly advanced the foundation’s mission to create lasting positive change in society.Miles Kubheka, Founder & CEO - Wakanda Food Accelerator: Miles is a visionary entrepreneur and innovation leader whose work exemplifies purpose-driven progress and sustainability. As the founder of Vuyo’s, he transformed a fictional restaurant concept into a thriving real- world brand, showcasing his ability to turn bold ideas into impactful ventures. His approach to business blends creativity, social responsibility, and long-term impact — values that continue to define his journey as one of South Africa’s leading impact driver. A champion for sustainability and food security, Miles founded Gcwalisa, an initiative providing affordable groceries to low-income communities while tackling food waste, and pioneered Dark Kitchens, a model designed to minimise energy use and environmental impact in the food industry. His ventures reflect a commitment to building innovative systems that uplift communities and protect the planet. Beyond entrepreneurship, Miles is a thought leader, author, and advocate for intrapreneurship and climate resilience. Through his platforms — from his book From a Big Big Dreamer to Living the Dream to his podcast Bean There Done That — he inspires individuals and organisations to embrace innovation, drive transformation, and build a more sustainable future. Erica Kempke, Co-Founder & Director - Youth@work NPC - Erica Kempken is a committed advocate and enabler for the empowerment of youth through work. Her vision is to see a society in which youth are recognised and respected for their inherent value, and in which they can express and develop this value through the liberating power of work. Together with co-founder Jacinta Roest-Tshidzumba, she realises this vision through Youth@worK, a dynamicand highly effective social enterprise which places South African youth into corporates, community-based small businesses, social sector organisations (NGOs), and educational sector workspace opportunities. Erica and Jacinta’s key commitment in founding this organisation was to support and equip job seeking youth to be able to contribute towards their workspace, learn essential work skills and “how to work”, actively engage with social issues, and live fulfilled and financially sustainable Lives. Erica is driven by an unequivocal belief in the potential of youth, a commitment, passion and drive to see them succeed, and a faith in the liberating nature of both work and lifelong learning. She is dynamic, kind and committed - and a highly effective communicator and powerful networker. She is able to both transmit her vision, and inspire action amongst her partners. She herself has spent 3 decades working within education and youth development and remains dedicated to a process of transformation. Erica and her Youth@worK team has the humility to see things as they are, the audacity to imagine how they could be, and the tenacity to make that a reality.Lindiwe Gumede, CMO - Metropolitan (Metropolitan Collective Shapers): Lindiwe Gumede is a dynamic marketing leader who blends sharp strategy with heart, humour, and a deep understanding of what makes people move: literally and emotionally.
