“Mantsopa” is a journey through song, written and directed by Dr. Jerry Mofokeng Makhetha.
The story of prophetess, Nkhono Mantsopa is shared through the journey of her
great-granddaughter, Tholoana (Leomile) who has the gift of song. How will she
become the best of herself, and what will she discover on a path in pursuit of
fame and fortune?
This production is a cultural journey, theatrically realised through a blend
of dramatic action and music. The cast features the songstress Leomile
Motsetsela, the legendary Florence Masebe, Lesotho’s favourite – Tseko
Monaheng, and Lebohang Banyane. Mawande Stuurman and Godfrey Mgcina create the
musical notes.
