But what if, for just two hours, you allowed yourself to slow down, unplug, and be fully present? Taking the step to a more balanced online and offline life?
Join us for Unplugged & Connected: After Work Unwind; an evening designed for genuine connection, relaxation, and community. The Dutch call it Niksen. The Italians call it Dolce far niente. We call it Unplugged & Connected. We’ve been inspired by the Swedish After Work concept. This is your space to pause, be present, and recharge after a long day.
Read, talk, nap, play board games, partake in the sessions themed activities. The choice is yours. Choose how you need to unwind.
Do you have books sitting on your bookshelf, you’ve read them but now they are just sitting on the shelf? Are you ready to share a book with someone else in the community and to take a new book home just for yourself? What new treasures await you in a new book? Be a part of the Book Exchange Club! Just by coming to the Unplugged session and bringing a book to swap, you automatically become a Book Exchange Club member!
What to Expect:A cozy, welcoming atmosphere to read, unwind, and connect. 2 Hours Just for You – A dedicated space to take a break from screens and spend time being present. Welcome Beverage & Snack – Included in your ticket, because slowing down should be nourishing. Scrumptious meals and drinks are available for purchase. A Community Without Pressure – Connect with like- minded people or simply enjoy me-time whilst being in the presence of others in a peaceful setting. Engage in me-time or community-based quality time activities (you choose what resonates most for you on the day). Relax with a book, play a board game, or engage in mindful activities like painting or knitting (bring your own arts & crafts materials). Sit alone in peace or spark authentic conversations with like-minded people.Unplugged Reads: Chapters & Connections - Step into a world of books, conversation, and community. Unplugged Reads: Chapters & Connections is a book club experience designed for those who love reading, sharing, and meaningful discussions all in a relaxed, tech-free space.Dedicated reading timeBook Swap - Bring a book to swap and take a new one home - make a sustainability impact by swapping books that are simply just sitting in your book shelf or a book that is so inspiring you want to share it! Mindfulness & Practical Tips – Learn simple, actionable ways to create a healthier balance between your online and offline life. Sharing Sessions & Reflections – Gain insights from others on navigating the digital world with intention. Themed Sessions Coming Soon – Future events will introduce new activities and hobbies to explore offline joy.
Why This Matters:
When we think about taking time away from our cellphones, tablets, laptops, gaming etc, our first thought is often “ I know how to do it, I can just stop using my cellphone whenever I want.” But more often than not, it’s not an easy as we think, not because we don’t know how to but because our brains have been re-wired and patterns in ways of living have changed. Sometimes we need a little guidance, a little dedicated time, a little support to help us re-wire our patterns so we can truly live the lives we want and need.
