The Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble is back at the Linder!
As always, this unique group of talented Soweto-based young musicians will be playing an eclectic mix of classical, light, and township beat, including South Africa’s very own Amapiano.
Joining them on stage is the charismatic and internationally renowned South African Diva, Sibongile Mngoma, performing a selection of jazz, soul and rock songs. The programme includes a semi-staged performance of Telemann’s Don Quixote Suite, a selection from Purcell’s King Arthur, a virtuosic performance by Tshidiso Boikanyo (the Ensemble’s leader) of Hubay’s Hey Katie, Satie’s magical Gymnopédies with harpist Amarilie Ackerman, and music from the iconic film score of Psycho.
