South Africa – Let’s Break an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title!

This Heritage Day, we’re bringing braai back to South Africa — and we’re doing it in the biggest way possible.

Join 2,500 proud South Africans around the fire as we attempt to claim the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most people grilling/barbecuing simultaneously! (Although we call it BRAAI)

How the Braai Works (10:00 – 12:00)

All you need to bring is yourself. We have the rest covered!

Each ticket includes:

  • A portion of wors to braai
  • A fresh roll
  • A branded apron to keep
  • A pair of tongs to keep
  • Access to braai station (prelit and ready for cooking)

At 10:00am sharp, all 2500 participants will braai together in what will be the biggest public braai the world has ever seen! Although we have given ourselves 2 hours, the actual braaiing will only take place for 5mins.

The Festival Experience (12:00 – 20:00)

Once the record is set, it’s time to celebrate.

  • Live performances from Mi Casa , GoodLuck , Booshle G , and more
  • Beer garden (18+ only)
  • A wide variety of food trucks and drink vendors
  • Family-friendly zones with chill areas and entertainment

This event is in support of a greater mission. Next year, on World Food Day, Big Save and the Imbumba Foundation will attempt to provide ONE MILLION MEALS across South Africa — and your ticket is a step towards that goal.

All proceeds go directly to the Imbumba Foundation , a South African non- profit committed to uplifting young people through education, empowerment, and health. Their Caring4Girls programme provides menstrual health support to schoolgirls across the country, helping them stay in class with dignity and confidence. Through Trek4Mandela , climbers summit Mount Kilimanjaro in honour of Nelson Mandela, raising vital awareness and funds for underprivileged youth.
