The Picnic Lapa is available for Rental from 06:00 to 18:00· An outdoor roofed Lapa with open sides situated in the Modderfontein Reserve at the picnic area.· 3 x wooden tables with benches placed in the Lapa.· No kitchen or basins.· Electrical power.· Additional entrance fee into the Reserve is applicable per person entering the Reserve.· Lapa to be cleaned up after the function and left in the same condition as found.· No Alcohol is allowed in the Modderfontein Reserve and/or at the Lapa. The cost is R713 for weekdays, weekends and public holidays excluding booking fees. Fishing:Fishing Times: Mondays – Sundays and Public Holidays: 06:00 – 18:00. The Reserve gate closes at 18:00. Cost structure: One Fishing Spot = 1 or 2 Anglers at R250 per angler. A maximum of 2 anglers is allowed per fishing spot and a maximum of 2 rods per angler. Non-Anglers - To pay a standard picnic fee of R50 per adult and R30 per child under 12. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Kiosk at Taroko Farm or Taroko Modderfontein gate.

Fishing area: Designated area at Fish Eagle Dam. There are 20 designated spots allocated. 2 anglers can be accommodated in a spot, with 2 rods per angler. Anglers to ensure that they only make use of their allocated spot and casting across neighbouring spots is not allowed. This is to ensure that everyone has equal access to the facility. Anyone contravening this will not be allowed to make use of the fishing area in the future. Conduct Rules:

Handling of fish:

Modderfontein Reserve - Rules and Regulations THE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT: Please take careful note of the speed limits applicable in the various areas of the Reserve. Note that not all roads are accessible to caravans and/ or vehicles exceeding a certain mass, type or size. THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IN THE PARKING AREA IS PROHIBITED. NO FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RESERVE. NO UNAUTHORIZED VENDORS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RESERVE OR TAROKO FARM. ADHERE TO GATE TIMES: Gate times must be strictly adhered to. After-hours driving is not allowed and could result in a summons being issued. DRIVING AREAS: Vehicles must remain on the designated roads at all times and off-road driving or driving on closed or no-entry roads is a serious offence. FISHING ALLOWED: ONLY at Fish Eagle DAM 3. Strictly catch & release. WALKING AREAS: Walking trails are provided throughout the Reserve and must be adhered to at all times so as to avoid disruption of vegetation and animal communities. Hiking fees must be paid to make use of the trails. DAMS: No swimming or entering the water. FEEDING OF WILDLIFE IS PROHIBITED: The feeding or intentional disturbance of wildlife is a serious offence. By feeding any wildlife you are potentially SIGNINGTHEIR DEATH WARRANT, AS THEY MAY BECOME DEPENDENT ON HUMANS and can BECOME AGGRESSIVE AND DANGEROUS, and thus HAVE TO BEEXTERMINATED. This includes all bird species. FLORA & FAUNA: No plant, animal, wildlife or any natural or cultural items may be removed from the Reserve without permission. To cut, damage, destroy or be in possession of any plant or part thereof, including dry wood or firewood is a serious offence. Importing of any specimen of an alien or listed invasive species into the Reserve is prohibited.
