“Come join us for our final gala concert of 2026! Our first two gala concerts touched audience members deeply:

“A deep breath for the soul indeed… It was a deeply moving experiece. I look forward to your upcoming concerts”

“It was wonderful to realise anew, inspired by your unbelievable voices and beautiful words, how much we can learn from the earth and nature!”

“Thanks for the enriching reminder of how brief our opportunities are to be kind to one another and to give and receive love.”

“You were once again absolutely wonderful - it feels as if you’ve bought some time for us this afternoon.”

The title of the programme was inspired by the Breyten Breytenbach poem: “Mag die bome groen bly en die sterre wit. En mag daar altyd mense wees wat mekaar sonder skaamte in die oë kan kyk. Want die lewe is ’n asem lank.”

The programme reflects on the fact that, while we know that life is short, we often feel that it is rushing past and that we are not experiencing it to the full. To find more meaning, it helps to remember that we are part of nature. Nature could teach us many things, such as quiet, kindness and to forget ourselves. We will also find the deep peace of nature healing. Through being one with nature, we could be echoes of peace, love and hope.

The programme includes, amongst others, works by Ēriks Ešenvalds, Luca Marenzio, Rob Dietz, Karl Jenkins and Franco Prinsloo.

Magdalena de Vries will join us on marimba in the Ešenvalds work. The audience will also be invited to do a rain improvisation with the choir.

Book your place for this sought-after experience!”
