As part of our ongoing commitment to the study and conservation of Afrotropical butterflies and moths, this year’s event will spotlight the critical role Lepidoptera play in safeguarding biodiversity and guiding ecological restoration.
LepSoc Africa serves as a dynamic forum for researchers, citizen scientists, and conservationists dedicated to understanding and protecting Lepidoptera across Africa. The 2025 conference will feature a range of informative presentations showcasing the latest research on moths and butterflies, as well as exploring how this data can be applied to conserving and restoring threatened ecosystems.
Together, we aim to protect habitats rich in biodiversity from escalating ecological threats—through rigorous science, collaborative action, and public engagement. We are delighted to invite you to participate in the LepSoc Africa Annual Conference 2025. Day 2 - Sun 26 Oct: Field trips or Bioblitzes Invite your fellow nature lovers, including those interested in other taxa, and help document the diversity of a local hotspot that is not yet protected as a designated hotspot, to help secure the area’s protection in the future.
