Shef and The Kitchen are proud to announce the Next Recipe concert. The Next
Recipe concert comes after the successful Album Launch that took place at
Gallery South Cape town in November, this will be the biggest concert that
promises to host more than 200 people being entertained by Shef and the
Kitchen performing new songs from the Album #TheNextRecipe with other
supporting Acts to be released soon.
The 11-track album was “cooked with love” in the heart of Orange Farm, South
of Johannesburg. It is a soulful blend of African Pop, Soul, and Funk, and is
produced by the talented Lucky Master Lugz Shabangu and written by the band’s
charismatic frontman, Siphiwe “Shef” Hlophe.
A Tribute to Mothers and African Roots
‘The Next Recipe’ is inspired by the unwavering love and dedication of mothers across the globe, celebrating their role in nurturing and shaping future generations. “It’s our way of appreciating the mothers who raised us and gave us a chance to become the men we are today,” says Shef.
The album also draws influence from the band’s international tour in India in
2020, where they connected with new fans and built a following across Asia.
Alongside this international experience, the project reflects the challenges
of making it out of the township of Orange Farm and the importance of staying
rooted in African culture.
