B Sharp Music Academy will be celebrating an icon of a composer in PJ Simelane for their second annual music lecture showcasing his life and music.
This year’s lecture will feature a key note address in the form of an anecdote
from a notable choral music practitioner, Dr Thulasizwe Nkabinde. Thulas, as
affectionately known, will speak from the heart and take us down memory lane
and give us a glimpse of what life was like living with PJ Simelane.
Choral music in South Africa has deep cultural roots and influences and the
audience will be taken on a journey to get to know the inspiration behind each
composition that will be presented on the day by B Sharp Music Academy’s
talented group of artists.
The second half will be an amazing nostalgic experience to celebrate our choral music heritage with famous heartwarming compositions from the likes of JP Mohapeloa, MM Moerane, SJ Khosa to name a few.
