Presented by B Sharp Music Academy, this vibrant and intimate staging promises to enchant opera lovers and newcomers alike with its timeless melodies, playful storytelling, and South African flair.
Set in a Soweto stall brimming with charm, youthfulness, hopes and dreams, L’elisir d’amore follows the earnest pantsula Nemorino as he seeks the heart of the clever and captivating Adina. With the arrival of a boastful sergeant and a traveling quack doctor peddling a “magic korobela”, the stage is set for a whirlwind of comic twists, romantic revelations, and one of opera’s most famous arias—“Una furtiva lagrima.”
