Prepare for an unforgettable experience of North Indian Classical Dance, Kathak, where School of Kathak and Interdisciplinary Learning with Shruti - SKILS (headed by Shruti Patki) has teamed up with Nataka Dance Company (headed by Nuka Rajarathnam) to bring you Avant Garde 8.
For the first time in South Africa, students of SKILS and Nataka Dance Company
will take the stage together, in this collaborative showcase of authentic
Kathak choreographies that will captivate an international audience.
Under the able guidance and direction of the talented Shruti Patki, dancers
will bring soulful storytelling, intricate rhythms, and the graceful beauty of
Kathak right to the South African stage. Shruti is a Kathak exponent with 27
years of training in the Jaipur and Benaras gharanas under legendary Gurus
Pandit Rajendra Gangani ji and Smt. Swati Sinha.
