OverviewJoin SAE Institute Johannesburg for their annual student creative showcase on Saturday, 29 November 2025 between 09.30-19h at its vibrant campus in Rosebank. It is a celebration of the dedication and hard work of our students and a platform for them to showcase their creative projects and talents. We invite you to interactive experiences, performances and screenings that will indulge your senses with a selection of sound, gaming, animation and film projects. This year’s Creative Showcase Theme is “Enchanted”. To be enchanted is to be under a spell/spellbound. “A spectacle (“Umbukwane”)/the spectacular” has the same effect. The SAE Creative Showcase is an enchanting experience – an immersive celebration of diversity, culture, and storytelling. Be Enchanted. Be at SAE.

Showcase ManifestoWe invite our guests to become enchanted, to move beyond reality and step into our realm of worldbuilding, shapeshifting, spellcasting, and transmutation. The woven world of SAE is alive with stories – each artist; a narrator and listener, crafting and reimagining what it means to create. This is enchantment: where creativity becomes the spell.

In the heart of Ghanaian folklore lives Anansi, the spider known for his wisdom, cunning, and creative problem-solving. Anansi is celebrated as the keeper of stories, a symbol of how knowledge, imagination, and clever thinking can shape the world around us. One well-known tale tells of how Anansi, through intelligence and ingenuity, earned the right to bring the world’s stories - once held by the Sky God, Nyame - to humanity. These stories were more than entertainment; they were lessons, histories, and reflections of the human experience. In this way, Anansi represents the transformative power of storytelling—the ability to connect, teach, and inspire through creativity.

Just as Anansi spins his web, weaving connections between all things, the artists of SAE spin their own threads of magic - crafting narratives that celebrate diversity, challenge perception, and transform reality through imagination. In this enchanted space, creativity is our web, and storytelling is the spell that binds us all together.
