The Legends Soirée is an evening of film, heartfelt dialogue, raffles and a lively auction featuring bold, beautiful and cheeky queer treasures, donated by South African legends and icons from our community and industry (some of whom will be in attendance) We’ll close the night with soulful musical performances and DJs to keep the vibes flowing.
The auction will be hosted by the enigmatic Kgomotso Matsunyane with performances by S’tebo and SAMA nominated DJ Lelowhatsgood. Join us for an evening of connection, laughter, and meaningful engagement. Be a part of building a movement that affirms queer well being, while caring for us and celebrating us.
About House of Ditsie House of Ditsie is a community-led, self-sustaining social enterprise founded by iconic filmmaker and activist Bev Ditsie and somatic healer Nicole Ditsie. They exist to support queer activists and LGBTQI+ communities with narrative justice, wellness, and collective care.
Their work bridges two essential pillars:
Narrative Justice – through storytelling, filmmaking, workshops, and film festivals that amplify queer voices and shift harmful discourses about queer communities.Somatic Wellness – through trauma-sensitive yoga, body-based healing practices, and grounding spaces designed to sustain activists and human rights defenders.
They believe that community is our greatest resource. Their programmes are funded through a self-sustaining model that combines fundraising events, knowledge-sharing masterclasses, and skill exchanges within their network and clients. This allows them to offer many of their services at low or no cost to those most in need.Their vision is a world where activists and human rights defenders are nourished and where healing is prioritised as a form of resistance. By combining art, storytelling, and somatic practices, they are creating spaces where LGBTQI+ people can reclaim their narratives.
