Gontse! is a contemporary dance project that takes us through the journey of women who survived Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence. This powerful production aims to create awareness about GBV and DV, empower women to fight against these social ills and encourage survivors to reclaim their lives.
Through the dancers’ movements and expressions, the audience will witness the struggles, resilience, and triumphs of women who have overcome GBV and DV. Conceptualized and directed by renowned Disemelo Makhanda, in collaboration with Jazz legend Tlale Makhene and choreographed by internationally acclaimed dancer Thandiwe Mqokeli.
Gontse! will bring these critical narratives to life through a 90-minute contemporary dance performance that will immerses audiences in the survivors' journeys followed by a panel discussion.
