The Soweto Theatre Youth Orchestra proudly presents “Chapters of Her”, its annual concert which in 2026 will be celebrating Women’s Month through the powerful combination of music, poetry, and storytelling.
“Chapters of Her” takes audiences on a moving musical journey through the
lives and legacies of legendary African women in music, including Miriam
Makeba, Sophie Mgcina, Slyvia Mdunyelwa and Dorothy Masuka.
Through orchestral arrangements, spoken word, and creative interpretation, the
concert explores the stories, struggles, triumphs, and contributions of women
whose voices helped shape African music and identity.
More than a concert, “Chapters of Her” is a celebration of womanhood, heritage, resilience, and artistic excellence. It is an opportunity for audiences to witness the next generation of musicians honouring the women who paved the way while creating a legacy of their own.
