Soweto Theatre will come alive with music, movement, and hope. The Nomsa Manaka Foundation, in partnership with Soweto Theatre, invites you to a Three- Hour Dancing Out of Cancer, Dance Marathon to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This isn’t just a fitness event, it is a powerful space for cancer survivors, caregivers, families, and the community to stand together. We dance for those still fighting. We dance for those we have lost. We dance because everybody carries a story, and every step carries hope.
Why We Move
Breast cancer is a growing reality in our communities. In South Africa, cases have risen significantly over the past 20 years, now accounting for 14% to 30% of all cancers in women. South Africa faces a devastatingly high death rate from the disease. It stands as the most prevalent cancer among white and Asian women, and the second most common cancer among black and coloured women.
By joining us, you help raise vital awareness and directly support those navigating this difficult journey.

The Event Line-Up
No dance experience is needed! Come exactly as you are and move at your own pace. We have an exciting line-up of four professional dance instructors who will guide you through high-energy, 45-minute segments:
• Amapiano – Feel the local beat and modern rhythms.
• Sepantsula – Experience the iconic, fast-paced township culture.
• Traditional Dance – Connect with deep heritage and storytelling through movement.
• Aerobics – Get your heart pumping and energy flowing.

Special Guest Performance & Beneficiary
The marathon will be followed by a deeply moving live performance by Priya Ndlovu.
Priya is a 30-year-old stage three breast cancer patient who will be sharing her powerful story and treatment journey. She is also the primary beneficiary of this event. All funds raised from your entrance fees will go directly toward helping Priya pay for her ongoing cancer treatments and critical medical procedures.
