The Fatherland is the story of the centenarian Dr. TT Cholo. Now living modestly in Soshanguve Township, Dr. Cholo shares the remarkable journey of his life. It is truly a blessing to have him among us, and his story must be told. He is telling it, and we are fortunate to listen. In 1962, TT Cholo skipped South Africa, his Fatherland, to go into exile to fight for The Fatherland. After four years of training and planning, he sets off back to the Fatherland through Botswana. Unfortunately, he is arrested and incarcerated for three years.

Upon his release, Dr. TT Cholo returns to exile, where he receives further training in Russia and China. In 1971, Cholo and his comrades make another attempt to return home by sea aboard a ship named Aventura. Unfortunately, their mission proves unsuccessful. In 1972, they try again, this time by air, but their efforts are thwarted once more when he is arrested and sent to Robben Island.

After 13 years of captivity, Dr. Cholo is eventually released in June 1988.Through his voice, The Fatherland is told in the present. He is alive to tell his story! The Fatherland.
