A family bond forged by music.

Swazi and Nokukhanya Dlamini met through joyous celebration in 1998. A duet of the song “what a friend“ during the tour would bring the sisters together and lead them to ultimately looking out for each other in the cutthroat music industry.

From sharing a flat in Yeoville to being the perfect pair as far as altos and Sopranos came, the two became inseparable. Often seen together backing the likes of the late Sibongile Khumalo, Gloria Bosman, Earnie Smith, and Judith Sephuma, the sisters we assumed to be biologically related and they chose each other to be exactly that.
“Sisters of song” is a celebration of a musical journey that has shaped their life story, as they will take us through the different phase of their lives. The music showcase on the evening will be c combination of what has made them to stand the test of time in an industry where it is very easy to be forgotten.

Having borrowed their voices to many a South African artist recordings as session musicians, and gone on to flourish in their solo career respectively, for the very first time the sisters come together to offer us a musical indulgence of the songs, and the stories that shaped them as the “Dlamini’s”

This night promises to be a journey of South African music tapestry and culture, and comes timeously during woman’s month, it is inevitable than that the repertoire will include songs from the aforementioned affiliates that they have worked with and their own catalogue from their solo albums respectively.
