BarFest returns this June with a powerhouse lineup of lyrical heavyweights. Featuring the charismatic Yanga Chief, the introspective Pdot O, Nomfundo Yekani carries the tradition of some of Soweto’s greatest spitters. She has the presence and fierceness of Prokid with the charm and danger of pretty viper. and , this edition promises a night of pure bars, bold statements, and unmatched energy and finally The beloved antihero Maggz - a reluctant goat.

More than a concert, BarFest is a celebration of hip hop culture, wordplay, and the art of the verse.

BarFest is a celebration of hip hop’s next generation of lyrical giants. The event showcases young rappers pushing the boundaries of storytelling, wordplay, and social commentary. Our mission is to provide a platform for emerging artists to share their unique voices and perspectives, while honouring the legacy of hip hop’s rich lyrical tradition.

This series is quickly becoming a vital part of the cultural landscape giving audiences a once in a lifetime experience with some of the most beloved rappers in South Africa and the future of the game.
