ABASE Presents His Global Sound System live at the basement

On a quest for cosmic grooves of unity, Àbáse is the imagination of Hungarian producer and keyboardist Szabolcs Bognár. A conduit for cross-cultural collaboration and celebration, his creative journey so far has led to him working with the likes of afrobeat pioneers Dele Sosimi, Pat Thomas and Etuk Ubong, hip-hop royalty Phat Kat and Guilty Simpson, and some of the most important and innovative voices in the international jazz and soul scene, including Wayne Snow, Immanuel Wilkins, Moses Yoofee, Ziggy Zeitgeist and The Arkestra’s Knoel Scott and Cecil Brooks.

Since the release of his critically acclaimed second album ‘Awakening’ in 2024, which was named as Worldwide FM’s ‘Album of the Week’, praised by MOJO, Songlines, HHV Magazine and Bandcamp, and supported across radio by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Tom Ravenscroft and Jamz Supernova, Àbáse has performed internationally in clubs and at festivals across Europe.

The Global Sound System is a unique collboration that centeres around carfeully corated live set with a mix of prov and organic music making. The music leans into the jazz foundations of his musical output and up-bringing, whilst also breaking down barriers with a progressive approach to arrangement and improvisation - embracing sampling, FX and electronic soundscapes.
