The EZIKO Village Tour comes to Johannesburg with a special performance at Untitled Basement, an evening of song, storytelling, and spirit around the metaphorical village fire. EZIKO began in the villages of the Eastern Cape, where Dumza returned to the people who gave him his voice, his language, his sound, and his rhythm, as a way of learning from and reconnecting with the givers. From there, the journey grew, taking the music across the country, with performances at Northwest University and in Cape Town. Now, EZIKO continues its mission: to remind us of home, to carry the warmth of the village into the cities, and to gather audiences around the fire of song and story. At Untitled Basement, the performance will feature: Xhanti Nokwali – guitar and voice Mzi SA – guitar and voice Dumza Maswana – voice and uhadi (traditional bow) Together, they weave jazz, soul, and indigenous sounds into an intimate and powerful musical journey. Each note is a story, each voice a call to remembrance, and each instrument a bridge between the old and the new. Audiences can expect an evening that is spiritual, grounding, and deeply moving, a true celebration of heritage, community, and artistry in its highest form.
