NEYVELI Dr.S. RADHAKRISHNA- DOUBLE VIOLIN ARTISTE
Born in a humble hamlet in Andhra Pradesh, India, Radhakrishna began his vocal stream of musical education at the age of eight under Sri C.S.Anandamani, nephew of the illustrious Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar,and simultaneously trained under Neyveli S.

Vimala for violin. Violin virtuoso Kalaimamani Ramanathapuram Sri M.N.Ganesa Pillai took Radhakrishna under his wing for over a decade. Later Radhakrishna came under the tutelage of violin maestro Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Dr.M.Chandrasekaran.

In 2017, he took master classes for double violin from Grammy award winner Dr.L.Shankar. Radhakrishna is accredited with an"A" grade and holds a master’s degree and Doctorate in Indian Classical Music, DoubleViolin. He has performed solo concerts and violin accompaniment across India to the cream of Carnatic musicians, Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna, Dr.L.Shankar, notably PadmaVibhushanPadmasri Dr.N.Ramani,T.V.Gopalakrishnan, Sangita Kalanidhi T.K.Govinda Rao, Padma Bhushan T.N.Seshagopalan, O.S.Thiagarajan, Padmasri Kadri Gopalnath, Ravikiran,Padmasri Sudha Raghunathan, Sowmya, and percussion giants T.K.Murthy,Vellore Ramabadran, Padma Bhushan Umayalpuram Sivaraman, Trichy Sankaran, Padmasri Dr.Yella Venkateswara Rao, Guruyaur Durai,Kalaimamani Srimushnam Rajarao, Padma Shri Haridwaramangalam A.K.Palanivel, Kalaimamani Tanjore Govindarajan, Tanmoy Bose and drums Sivamani. Radhakrishna plays the rare, creative, and unique ten-string, stereoscopio DOUBLE VIOLIN, the only one of its kind in Asia among a handful in the world.

His version of “nouveau” DOUBLE VIOLIN is a recent addition to the world of stringed instruments. It incorporates the range of violin, viola,cello, and double bass. It showcases that music transcends the barriers of time and has a unique, universal appeal. He has disproved the dictum that"east is east and west is west, and never the twain shall meet" by his impeccable style where he harmoniously blends the orient and the occident. A trendsetter, he has done India proud by being the first Asian to play the le DOUBLE VIOLIN. Widely traveled across the world, Radhakrishna has absorbed local genres and in multi-cultural projects partnered with Western music giants Jonas Hellborg (bass guitar), Dominique Di Piazza(Bass)Simone Zanchini(accordion), Ernst Reisegar (cello), Mattias IA Eklundh (Guitar), Misrili Ahmet (dohollo) and other stars shining in the global firmament.

His performance won accolades when he teamed up with the MOSAIC band in South Africa’s beachfront. He has participated in WORLD MUSIC festivals,notably Woodstock-Poland, Jazz music festival-Switzerland, Baltic Sea festival-Poland, Dunya world music festival, Rotterdam, specially arranged Indishe Nacht- Siemens Forum-Erlangen, Festival international de Percussió de Catalunya-Spain Shetland Folk Festival (U.K.) and Congo Square Jazz Fest, Kolkata, Ethno jazz Festival-Moldova, Jazz in Odessa- Ukraine.
