Nomzamo is a powerful musical-poetry theatre production that delves into the life and legacy of Nomzamo Winifred Madikizela-Mandela, one of South Africa’s most complex and influential figures in the struggle against apartheid.
Through a compelling fusion of theatre, poetry, music, movement and memory, the production journeys through Nomzamo’s experiences of love, motherhood, political persecution, isolation, emotional trauma and resistance. It explores the woman behind the public image—her vulnerabilities, sacrifices, contradictions and extraordinary determination to survive and fight within one of the most brutal chapters of South African history.
